About Joana Rosa
1959: Born in Lisbon, the city where she lives and works.
1978: Attends St. Martin's School Art & Design in London.
1979 – 1983: Studied at London University College, Slade School of Fine Art Experimental Sculpture Course, London. Receives a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
Joana Rosa belongs to a lineage of artists. She is the granddaughter of the great sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida and the daughter of the great painter Helena Almeida. Her works are part of the collection of major international museums: Momma, Serralves Foundation, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, etc.
In Portugal, she usually exhibits in galleries.
