1920: Born in Amadora, Portugal.
He attends the António Arroio School, in Lisbon.
1948: Joins the group “os Surrealistas”, with Mário Cesariny, Pedro Oom, Henrique Risques Pereira, António Maria Lisboa, Mário Henrique Leiria, Fernando José Francisco, Fernando Alves dos Santos and Carlos Calvet. In the 50's he leaves Portugal and leaves for Africa, settling in Angola. With the intensifying of the colonial war, he left Africa and returned to Portugal where he produced illustrations for “Antologia de Poesia Portuguesa Erótica e Satírica”, by Natália Correia,
1967: Inaugurates, with Mário Cesariny, the exhibition Pintura Surrealista, at Galeria Divulgação, in Porto. In 1969, again with Cesariny, he integrates the International Surrealist Exhibition in Holland and during the 70s he shows his works in numerous collectives of the international surrealist movement, mainly those linked to the Phases Group to which he had, however, adhered. In the following decades, after cutting ties with Cesariny, he moved away from the circuits of mercantile and institutional consecration. He settles in the Algarve and continues to present his work in individual and group exhibitions.
2006: Perve Galeria presented “Cesariny, Cruzeiro Seixas and Fernando José Francisco and the tour of the weird corpse”. This exhibition marked the reunion of the three artists. Original works made between 1941 and 2006 were presented - the year in which he produced an unprecedented set of 12 “Cadavres Exquis”. It is represented in the collections of the Chiado Museum (Lisbon); Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Modern Art Center (Lisbon); National Library and Book Institute; Machado de Castro National Museum (Coimbra); Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior Museum (Castelo Branco); António Prates Foundation (Ponte de Sôr), Cupertino de Miranda Foundation (VNFamalicão), Eugénio Granell Foundation (Galicia), among others.
2020: Died, in Lisbon, less than a month from turning 100.
