About Espiga Pinto

1940: Born in Vila Viçosa, Portugal.
He belongs to the third generation of Portuguese modernist artists. He divided his activity into different areas, from painting and drawing to sculpture, medals, etc. It is represented at the Chiado Museum, at the José de Azeredo Modern Art Center
Perdigão, and in other public and private collections.

1958: Shows individually for the first time in (Galeria Pórtico), having held multiple individual shows since then.

1961: Participated in the II Plastic Arts Exhibition of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

1971: Author of a large panel for the headquarters of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and of the scenario for the ballet Dulcineia (F. Calouste Gulbenkian).

1973: Attended the Lisbon School of Fine Arts. He received a Specialization Scholarship in Painting from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, which
allowed him to travel through Europe between 1973 and 1974 (his itineraries through cities such as Paris, Munich or Stockholm were amply documented in the reports sent to the Foundation's Fine Arts Service).

1976: Participated in the Contemporary Portuguese Art exhibition, Brasília, São Paulo,
Rio de Janeiro

1979-1987: Professor at the Industrial and Commercial School of Estremoz at IADE (Institute of Visual Arts, Design and Marketing, Lisbon).

2014: Died on October 1.
