About Guilherme Parente

1940 : Born in December in Belém, Lisbon.
1960s : He studied painting with master Roberto Araújo at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, in Lisbon, and attended engraving courses at Gravura – Sociedade Cooperativa de Gravadores Portugueses, in Lisbon.
1968-70: Worked at the Slade School, in London, with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. He belonged to the 5+1 group, together with the sculptor Virgílio Domingues and the painters João Hogan, Júlio Pereira, Sérgio Pombo and Teresa Magalhães.
Anos 70: Begins to hold several exhibitions both nationally and internationally, in addition to Portugal, Belgium, Germany, France, England, Japan and the United States of America.
1975 : Receives the Malhoa Award.
1989 : Receives the Painting Prize from the National Society of Fine Arts.
2014 : Receives the Painting Prize from the National Society of Fine Arts.
2014 : In the same year, he participated in the exhibition "Uma Mão Cheia De Arte", Private Gallery (15th anniversary) - Hotel Conrad, Algarve.
